Your Eyes Our Focus

At first glance of a human face we can be quick to think that someone with dark circles must have a problem with sleeping or is unhealthy in some way. Although lack of sleep and poor health certainly does influence the appearance of dark circles it’s not the whole story.

You Hold The Key

Our eyes are the first thing people notice about us so it natural to want them to look fresh and full of life. Almost 80% of women suffer from Eye Bags, Puffiness and Dark Circles at some point in their lives.

Now more than ever when our masks are covering our mouths, our eyes have become the words to our voice. They are how we listen, how we acknowledge and how we communicate. So there’s never been a more important TIME to give them the attention they deserve.

At first glance of a human face we can be quick to think that someone with dark circles must have a problem with sleeping or is unhealthy in some way. Although lack of sleep and poor health certainly does influence the appearance of dark circles it’s not the whole story.

Eyelid skin is the thinnest skin on the human body. Because of this delicate skin the deeper structures under the skin such as tiny blood vessels are more visible. Add aging, genetics, allergies, sun exposure, stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, hormonal changes, medication, and illness to the list and you will have a deeper understanding of how easy it is for the skin of the eye to show the first signs of aging.

So let’s breakdown the four underlying causes of these unwelcome intruders around our eyes!

In all four categories there’s an interesting overlap. When the skin around the eye begins to age it becomes less efficient at doing its job. This means that the little blood vessels become weaker and dilate making them more visible under the skin. This causes the drainage system around the eye to become less efficient causing fluid seepage and puffiness. So when we talk about dark circles and puffiness really they can go hand in hand.

Fine lines and wrinkles are also associated with aging and the breakdown of the structures that keep the eye skin strong and healthy.

What does make them differ slightly is if the puffiness is cause by allergies, lack of sleep or other lifestyle influencing factors such as medication etc where age is not so much of an influencing factor.

Also genetic and ethnicity pigmentation is true pigmentation.
